Dual Diagnosis

Anchor Hospital operates as a dual diagnosis treatment center that treats co-occurring psychiatric and chemical dependency issues while patients are in the inpatient program. Based on an integrated psychiatric evaluation, treatment is tailored to suit the individual patient. Patients at Anchor Hospital will have the opportunity to participate in programming that addresses both psychiatric and chemical dependency symptoms.

Treatment is administered by a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals. Active family involvement in treatment is a critical component for the treatment plan. Team members may include:

  • Nurses
  • Social Workers
  • Expressive Therapists
  • Program Specialists
  • Substance Abuse Counselors
  • Psychologists

The treatment plan focuses on attainable short and long-term goals established with the input of the patient’s family and referring professional, if appropriate. Active family involvement in treatment is a critical component as the patient’s recovery is often correlated to healthy family interaction.
